Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, drain cooling system and discharge and recover refrigerant as outlined in Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect heater hoses, using tube remover tool No. 09977-33600, or equivalent. Remove air conditioning lines from evaporator core, if equipped.
3. Remove console assembly, glove compartment assembly, main lower crash pad and lower crash pad center fascia assembly.
4. Remove heater control assembly, lower crash pad center skin assembly and crash pad center support bracket assembly.
5. Remove evaporator unit assembly.
6. Remove rear heating joint duct assembly, heater unit assembly.

7. Remove heater core from heater unit assembly, Fig. 8 and 9.
8. Reverse procedure to install
