Transmission identification on the KM175 and KM177 transaxles is on the pad cast into the forward lip of the bellhousing.

KM175
Automatic four speed with torque converter and internal differential.
Has an internal damper clutch (Torque converter lock-up clutch).

Stall speed: 2,500 ± 300 rpm

KM177
Automatic four speed with torque converter and internal differential.
Does not have an internal damper clutch (Torque converter lock-up clutch).

Stall speed 2,400 ± 200 rpm.
