DTC Testing Precautions

COMPONENT REPLACEMENT PRECAUTIONS
1. Disconnect battery ground before replacing electronic components.
2. To avoid induced voltage spikes route all fuel and engine control system wiring at least 10cm (4 inches) away from ignition cables.

NOTE: Before disconnecting battery ground, access trouble codes and radio presets. Control unit memory is erased when ground is removed.
