Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, drain cooling system and discharge and recover refrigerant as outlined in Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect heater hoses, then using tube remover tool No. 09977-33600, or equivalent remove suction hose and liquid tube.
3. Remove front and rear console assembly, and both side covers.
4. Remove glove compartment, center crash pad cover, center crash pad and cassette assembly.
5. Remove lower crash pad, console mounting bracket and center support bracket.
6. Remove left-hand and right-hand rear heating duct assembly and rear heating joint duct.
7. Remove control assembly, remove heater assembly.

8. Remove heater core or evaporator from heater assembly, Fig. 12.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
