Before installing replacement compressor, drain oil from old and new compressors. If 3 to 5 ounces of oil was drained from old compressor, install the same amount of oil in new compressor. If more than 5 ounces was drained from old compressor, install 5 ounces of new refrigerant oil in new compressor. If less than 3 ounces was removed from oil compressor, install 3 ounces in new compressor.
When replacing the accumulator, drain oil from accumulator and measure. Add same amount of new oil plus 2 ounces to new accumulator. When other air conditioning system components are replaced, add the following quantities of refrigerant oil: Evaporator core, 3 fluid ounces; condenser, 1.1 fluid ounces.
