Cruise Control: Adjustments

Fig. 2 Actuator Cable Adjustments:

1. Loosen accelerator cable and cruise control cable adjusting nuts and locknuts, so throttle lever can move freely, Fig. 2.
2. Turn ignition switch to On position, do not start engine.
3. Tighten cruise control cable adjusting nut to lessen its play. When cruise control lever touches stopper, unscrew adjusting nut approximately one turn until inner cable play is 0.04-0.08 inch.
4. Lock cruise cable with locknut.
5. Keeping throttle lever in contact with cruise control lever, tighten adjusting nut of accelerator cable to lessen its play. Inner cable play should be 0.04-0.08 inch.
6. Lock accelerator cable with locknut.
7. After adjustment, ensure end of fixed idle switch is touching stopper of throttle lever.
