Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect engine coolant inlet and outlet hoses from heater unit.
4. Disconnect vacuum source hose from vacuum nipple of heater unit.
5. Remove main crash pad assembly.
6. Remove rear heating if joint duct from heater unit.
7. Disconnect connectors from control modules mounted on center fascia panel support bracket and other interruptive connectors.
8. Remove screws, bolts or nuts from center fascia panel support bracket.
9. Slightly pull steering column shroud under cover support bracket rearward, and disconnect stud bolt of center fascia panel support bracket.
10. Remove center fascia panel support bracket.
11. Remove center support bars.
12. Remove glove box support bracket.
13. Refer to Evaporator Core, and remove evaporator assembly.

14. Remove heater assembly mounting bolts and assembly Fig. 11.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
