Evaporative Emissions System: Description and Operation
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (EVAP)
The EVAP system is designed to reduce the release of harmful evaporative gases to the atmosphere. The system is monitored by way of an evaporative system checking circuit as part of the engine management system's on-board diagnostics (OBD). A canister close valve (CCV) and a fuel tank pressure sensor (FTP), on the fuel tank, are used to close the system and to observe tank pressure respectively.
