1996-1997 SONATA THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR SPECIFICATION (SHOP MANUAL CORRECTION)

DESCRIPTION:

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) output voltage at curb idle specification in the 1996 and 1997 Sonata Shop Manuals is incorrect. The correct TPS output voltage at curb idle is 0.4-1.0 Volt.

Please make the corrections as indicated below, and write the TSB number at the bottom of the appropriate pages in the 1996 and 1997 Sonata Shop Manuals for future reference.

1996 Sonata Shop Manual

Pages FL-2, FL-3, FL-21, and FL-88 indicate the TPS voltage specification to be 450-550 mV. The correct value is 0.4-1.0 V.

1997 Sonata Shop Manual

Page FL-87 indicates the TPS specification to be 450-550 mV. The correct value is 0.4-1.0 V.
