TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

HARNESS INSPECTION PROCEDURES

SENSOR INSPECTION
Inspection Preparation/Test Conditions
- Verify that fuel level is over 15% full; If not, the test results will be invalid.
- Engine ON and at idle.

Inspection Procedure
1. Prepare a voltmeter and connect it to the fuel tank pressure sensor (FTP) pins as shown.
2. After 20 minutes @ idle, inspect the voltage.

3. Check voltage at idle.
4. Check voltage on acceleration. Verify fluctuations in the output voltage correspond to changes in fuel tank pressure and engine RPM.

System voltage 5 V
On acceleration Max. 4.5 V, Min. 0.5 V

NOTE: If voltage is not as outlined in the procedure, there may be leakage in the EVAP system. Inspect the fuel tank and hoses toward canister and fuel neck. Then repair or replace relevant parts.
