Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection

1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect the ignition coil connector.





3. Connect a test lamp (12 V 3 W or lower) between the battery positive terminal and No.1 (6) terminal of the power transistor.

CAUTION: The test lamp should be 12 V 3 W or lower, otherwise the power transistor may be burnt out.

4. Check the test lamp while cranking the engine.
If he test lamp flasher, it is considered to be normal.

CAUTION: To prevent the battery from discharge, do not crank the engine more than 3 times for 10 seconds.

5. If not, check the power transistor and replace it if defective.
