DESCRIPTION:

1996-2002 Accent, 1996-2000 Elantra and 1997-2001 Tiburon vehicles share common transaxle diagnostic trouble codes (DTC). Elantra and Tiburon vehicles beginning with June 1, 1999 production and 2000-2001 Accent vehicles use a valve body with six solenoids and have several new DTCs.

NOTE
When servicing these vehicles for a driveability condition, check for DTCs in both "Engine" and "Automatic Transaxle" menus. When cancelling DTCs, it is necessary to cancel codes separately in both menus.
