DESCRIPTION:

This TSB is being issued to clarify diagnostic code P1624. The HDS scan tool description for P1624 is different for the 1999 V6 Sonata than other Hyundai models.

1999 Sonata V6:
The HDS scan tool description for P1624 is "Cooling Fan Circuit Low". This is the correct description.

All Other Models:
The HDS scan tool description for P1624 may incorrectly read "Cooling Fan Circuit Low" depending on the model/year.

The correct description for this code is "1CM MIL Request to ECM".

"TCM MIL Request to ECM" informs you that an automatic transaxle related code was set, and should be accompanied by another code that indicates the diagnostic condition.

Erase this code when the transaxle condition has been corrected.
