Harness Inspection




The fuel tank pressure sensor is a pressure sensitive variable resistor. It measures the change of pressure in the fuel tank and monitors leakage detection. It is used to close the evaporative system and observes tank pressure respectively with canister close valve.

Harness Inspection Procedures (Step 1 - 3):






SENSOR INSPECTION
Check to look that fuel level is over 15 %. If not , this inspection is not available.
The vehicle must be in turn-on and at idle. Don't forget it.




1. Prepare a voltmeter and connect it to FTP pins as shown.




2. After 20 min.' idling, inspect the voltage.

System voltage: 5 V
At accelerate: Max. 4.5 V, Min. 0.5 V

3. At idle, inspect that voltage fluctuates up to accelerate. rpm up and down.

NOTE: If voltage is not within spec as procedures, there is leakage and inspect the fuel tank and hoses toward canister and fuel neck. Then repair or replace relevant parts.
