DESCRIPTION:

This bulletin provides information concerning the vehicle identification numbers of all Hyundai models that have been sold in the United States.

Hyundai is redefining two positions in the VIN Code sequence beginning with the Model Year 2000 Accent. Definitions for the fifth and sixth digit of the VIN Code will be reversed. At present this change only affects the 2000 Model Year Accent. The new VIN Code sequence pattern will be applied to all redesigned models in the future.
