2001 SANTA FE BUFFER STRIP MODIFICATION "CAMPAIGN 913"

DESCRIPTION:

On some 2001 MY Santa Fe vehicles, the roof rack crossbar rubber inserts (buffer strips) may become detached from the crossbar. As a result, a service campaign is being conducted to correct this condition. The campaign entails removing and cleaning the rubber buffer strips and then reattaching them to the crossbar with adhesive. The procedure will take approximately 15 minutes to repair two cross rails.

A Santa Fe Buffer Strip Modification Kit (P/N 00244-71010) has been sent to all Hyundai dealers. Each kit contains enough parts and material to service 10 vehicles or 20 cross rails. Installation instructions are included in the kit.

IMPORTANT:
AFFECTED VEHICLES CANNOT BE DETERMINED by looking at a specific beginning and ending production date range or a specific beginning and ending VIN range. Dealers MUST verify a vehicle is affected by checking the Warranty Vehicle Information Screen in the Interactive System. Claims submitted for repairs on vehicles outside of the affected range will be rejected.
