Repair Procedure

1. Slide the front seats backward.





2. Remove the four screws to the right and left console side covers. Remove only the left side cover.





3. Remove the two 10 mm bolts securing the floor console.

4. Move the shift lever to the "D" position and engage the parking brake.





5. Remove the floor console. Disconnect the connectors to the seat warmer switch, if installed.





6. Pull the carpet back as shown.





7. Remove the control wiring harness band cable using a screwdriver.

8. Use pliers to squeeze the tabs and pull the airbag wiring band cable out of the bracket hole.





9. Remove the bracket bolt.





10. Pull the wiring harness and connectors forward as shown for ease of installation of the extension wire.





11. Disconnect the 18 pin female connector from the male connector (E/R-G control harness connector).





12. Using a 90° pick or similar tool, insert the pick into the connector retainer as shown and pull the retainer open approximately 1/8 inch.





13. Insert the extension wire (P/N 91400-26AAA) in the connector in the position shown until a click sound is heard.

14. Close the retainer.





15. Reconnect the 18 pin female connector to the male connector.





16. Disconnect the TCM connector from the TCM (C24-1 connector).





17. Use a small screwdriver or pick to release the tab at each end of the C24-1 connector and open the connector retainer.





18. Open the C24-1 connector retainer as shown.





19. Insert the extension wire terminal into the # 8 receptacle (counting from the right side as shown in photo) in the connector until a click sound is heard.

CAUTION:
Carefully route the extension wire so it is not wrapped around the SRS wire harness.

20. Close the connector retainer.





21. Reconnect the TCM connector to the TCM.

22. Tape the extension wire to the harness as shown.





23. Install the mounting bracket bolt and reconnect the band cable to the mounting bracket.





24. Reinstall the band cable for the wiring harness.





25. Reinstall the floor console. Reconnect the heat warmer switch (if installed).

NOTE:
Be sure to connect the white connector to the receptacle with the white dot.

26. Reinstall all removed components in reverse order of removal.
