Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONBattery voltage is supplied at all times to the open/tilt down and the close/tilt up sunroof relay contacts. Open/tilt down relay and close/tilt up relay coils are also supplied battery voltage when the ignition switch is in ON. When the ignition key is turned on and the open switch is depressed, the open/tilt down relay is energized. Battery voltage is then supplied to the sunroof motor through the open/tiltdown relay contacts. The motor is grounded through close/tilt up relay contact.
When the ignition key is turned on and the close switch is depressed, the close/tilt up relay is energized through root open/close limit switch. When the sunroof is open, the roof open/close limit switch always contacts the open position. The tilt up and tilt down switch works similarly to the open switch.
The polarity of the voltage applied to the sunroof motor through sunroof relay contacts is changed according to the switch positions.
