REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT PROCEDURE - SHOP MANUAL ADDITION
DESCRIPTION:
This TSB provides shop manual corrections for the 2001 2003 Santa Fe shop manuals. The following pages are affected:
^ Page SS-22 of the 2001 Santa Fe shop manual
^ Page SS-20 of the 2002 Santa Fe shop manual
^ Page SS-21 of the 2003 Santa Fe shop manual
ADDITION:
Add the following note under the title - REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT on the affected pages of the shop manuals (see example page shown):
NOTE:
1. DO NOT USE POWER TOOLS FOR LOOSENING OR TIGHTENING THE CAM BOLT NUTS.
2. Loosen each cam bolt attaching nut without moving the cam bolt head position.
3. Then adjust the rear wheel toe and/or camber angle using the procedures outlined in the affected shop manuals.
4. After the alignment adjustment, tighten the bolt attaching nuts to the specification.
104-118 lb.ft (140-160 Nm, 1400-1600 Kg.cm).
NOTES EXPLAINED:
1. Do not use any power tool while loosening or tightening the cam bolt nuts as it may damage the cam bolt guide.
2. Photo shows the cam bolt guide.
3. A damaged cam bolt guide may not hold the rear wheel alignment at set values.
4. A damaged cam bolt guide condition may only be corrected by replacing the rear crossmember.
