Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR

DESCRIPTION




This sensor detects the temperature inside the cooling unit and sends the appropriate signals to the air conditioning control assembly.

CHECKING
- Remove evaporator.
- Remove evaporator temperature sensor.
- Check the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of evaporator temperature sensor connector at each temperature.

Resistance
at 0 °C: 11.1 - 11.6 k Ohms
at 15 °C: 5.8 - 6.1 k Ohms
