Removal and Installation

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

NOTE: Raise the hoist a proper height and rock the vehicle to be sure it is firmly supported.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable.




2. Remove the engine under cover.




3. Remove the starter cover.




4. Disconnect the starter cable from the B-terminal on the solenoid, then disconnect the S-terminal connector.




5. Remove the starter mounting bolt and nut, then remove the starter.

Tightening torque: 43-55 Nm (430 - 550 kg-cm, 32-41 lb-ft)

6. Installation is the reverse of removal.
