REAR SPOILER PAD REPLACEMENT
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides a procedure to replace the rear spoiler pads on the 2007 MY Entourage (EP).
Symptom/Condition:
Portions of the rear spoiler pads may protrude through the gap between the spoiler and tail gate on some 2007 MY Entourage vehicles.
VEHICLES AFFECTED:
Model: Entourage (EP) - 2007MY - ALL
Production Date Range: Job 1 - June 30, 2006
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Open the tail gate.
2. Remove the tail gate upper trim (A).
NOTE:
Be careful not to damage any retaining clips.
3. Remove the left and right rubber caps from the tail gate.
4. Disconnect the center stop lamp connector (B).
5. Loosen the 4 rear spoiler mounting bolts and 2 plastic nuts (C) and carefully remove the rear spoiler from the tail gate.
6. Place the rear spoiler on a soft cloth to avoid any scratches.
7. Remove the 3 existing pad strips from the lower end of the rear spoiler and clean any debris/residue remaining with alcohol wipes or any commercially available body solvent cleaner.
(e.g. Acrysol or Prepsol)
NOTE:
Be sure that the solvent is safe to use on painted and plastic surfaces.
8. Attach the replacement pads as follows:
(D) The new pads (lower) should be attached 5-6 mm inwards from the lower end of the rear spoiler (both sides).
(E) Center gap spacing - more than 4 mm is required
Outer gap spacing - 10-18 mm minimum.
9. Install all the removed parts in reverse order.
10. After installation is complete - check the high mounted center stop lamp for proper operation.
NOTE:
When reconnecting the high mounted stop lamp connector, pull the connector wiring all the way through the tail gate opening to insure proper fit of the spoiler.
