General Description

Rain sensing wiper system controls wiper automatically in accordance with detected rainfall without extra signal of driver. It consists of rain sensor, multifunction switch and wiper, and operates when the wiper switch is moved to AUTO position and the Ignition switch is in IGN2 position. Rain sensor consists of two light emission diode (LED), two photo diode, optical fiber and coupling pad. Rain sensor detects rainfall by measuring reflexibility of light from LED to photo diode. When rain sensor detects rainfall, it delivers signal to BCM and BCM operates wiper automatically.

DTC Description

The ECM sets DTC B1907 if the Sensor cannot detect a usable input signal from the wiper control for a minimum of 0.5 seconds.
