Repair Procedures





Removal and Installation

[LH]
1. Disconnect the LH front and rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector.
2. Remove the front muffler.

3. Remove the cooling fan assembly.

4. Remove oil level gauge assembly.

5. Remove the LH exhaust manifold heat protector (A).

Tightening torque :
9.8 - 11.8N.m (1.0 - 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7lb-ft)




6. Remove the LH exhaust manifolds stay (A),and then remove the LH exhaust manifold (B) and gasket.

Tightening torque
Stay bolt :
24.5 - 35.3N.m (2.5 - 3.6kgf.m, 18.1 - 26.0lb-ft)
Manifold nuts :
49.0 - 53.9N.m (5.0 - 5.5kgf.m, 36.2 - 39.8lb-ft)




7. Installation is reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
When installing the exhaust manifold, tighten the nuts with pre-torque first and then tighten the nuts with specified torque in the sequence shown.




[RH]
1. Disconnect the RH front and rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector.
2. Remove the surge tank.

3. Remove the front muffler.

4. Remove the RH exhaust manifold heat protector (A).

Tightening torque :
9.8 - 11.8N.m (1.0 - 1.2kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7lb-ft)




5. Remove the RH exhaust manifolds stay (A),and then remove the RH exhaust manifold (B) and gasket.

Tightening torque
Stay bolt :
24.5 - 35.3N.m (2.5 - 3.6kgf.m, 18.1 - 26.0lb-ft)
Manifold nuts :
49.0 - 53.9N.m (5.0 - 5.5kgf.m, 36.2 - 39.8lb-ft)




6. Installation is reverse order of removal.
