Crank Angle Sensor

1. Remove distributor from engine. Leave crank angle sensor harness connected.
2. Disconnect ignition wires, then turn ignition switch On.
3. Rotate distributor shaft slowly by hand, then using suitable voltmeter, check voltage as follows:
a. On 2.0L/4-122 engines, between terminals A (180° signal), D (1° signal) and ground Fig. 5, voltage should fluctuate between 5 volts and 0 volts.

b. On 3.0L/V6-181 engines, between terminals 3 (120° signal), 4 (1° signal) and ground Fig. 6, voltage should fluctuate between 5 volts and 0 volts.

4. If not as specified, replace crank sensor.
