Malfunction is usually caused by a faulty part in either the electrical or hydraulic system. However, it sometimes occurs due to a combination of problems in both systems. For this reason, reproduction tests are necessary to determine cause of failure.
As a result of the diagnosis, if malfunction is due to faulty hydraulic component parts, refer to Figs. 1 and 2 to determine required operations associated with repair work and order of operation.
When voltage or resistance is measured at active suspension ECU connector terminals, always use check adapter tool No. EG1771000 or equivalent, Fig. 3. If no abnormalities are found through this inspection, check with CONSULT tool set to FIELD TEST mode and attempt to record data concerning faults which occur intermittently.
When ECU is determined to be faulty, recheck with CONSULT set to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC mode for confirmation. Replace only control unit, not bracket.
