Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Slow Operation

1. Spray silicone (wet) into the run rubber channel and operate the window up and down several times.

2. It the window operates normally, replace the run rubber and release the vehicle.

3. If the window operation is still slow, remove the door trim.

4. Remove the motor and the regulator as an assembly from the door panel (see Figure 2). Reconnect the motor to the harness outside the door panel. Operate the motor and listen for noise. If possible, check that the motor speed is satisfactory compared to a known good motor.

5. Outside the door panel with the motor connected to the regulator, hold on to the cable channel and determine if the motor can be stalled or stopped.

NOTE:
If the cable is frayed, you may want to protect your hands with gloves.

6. If any of the above conditions exist, replace the motor and run rubber.
