Cooling Fan Control System

Cooling Fan Control Input/Output Signal Line:





PURPOSE
The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the radiator cooling fan via cooling fan relay. The cooling fan is activated corresponding to different vehicle operating conditions.

OPERATION
Fan Operation With A/C "OFF"

Engine Coolant Temperature Cooling Fan
Below 104°C (219°F) OFF
Above 105°C (221°F) ON

Fan Operation With A/C "ON"

Vehicle speed below 39 km/h (24mph)
Cooling fan is OFF when:
- Engine coolant temperature below 94°C (201°F)
Cooling fan is ON when:
- Engine coolant temperature above 95°C (203°F)

Vehicle speed above 40 km/h (25mph)
Cooling fan is OFF when:
- Engine coolant temperature below 104°C (219°F)
Cooling fan is ON when:
- Engine coolant temperature above 105°C (221°F)
