Generic Scan Tool

Procedure for malfunction B
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".
2) Confirm the engine coolant temperature is lower than 70°C (158°F) in "Mode 1" with Generic Scan Tool (GST). Perform the following steps before its temperature becomes higher than 60°C (140°F).
3) Start engine.

4) Check for the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve lifting when revving engine from 2,000 rpm up to 4,000 rpm under no load. EGR valve should be closed and should not lift up.
