1. Remove the Auto Closure Unit as per the BL (Body Lock & Security System) section of the ESM (Electronic Service Manual) after marking the position of the mounting bolts.
2. Remove both connectors from the Trunk Lid Closure Assembly.
B55 is a 4 wire body with 3 wires.
B601 has 2 wires.
3. Use a small screw driver to release the B55 connector lock to separate the inner from the outer halves.
4. Install the white wire of the sub-harness from the Parts Information in the open location of the inner section. Position the white wire with the raised side up! flat side down. Push the white end into the open inner connector port until a single click is heard.
Note:
The single click confirms the wire is locked to connector.
5. Insert the inner into the outer halves of connector B55 and slide them together to reassemble.
Note:
Another single click confirms the connector halves are locked together.
6. Slide the gray 2 wire sub-harness connector to the connector mount on the motor frame. Insert the sub-harness end into the mounted end.
7. Reconnect both B55 and B601 harnesses to the new Trunk Lid Closure Assembly.
8. Remove the ground bolt at the trunk carpet level. Install the black wire end of the sub-harness under the bolt reinstall and tighten the bolt.
