CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS


CAUTION: If cylinder head bolts are re-used, check their outer diameters before installation. Refer to "Outer Diameter of Cylinder Head Bolts".







Limit (d1 - d2): More than 0.18 mm (0.0071 inch)







NOTE: In step "c", loosen bolts in the reverse order of that indicated in figure.

a. Apply engine oil to threads and seating surface of bolts.
b. Tighten all bolts to 98.1 Nm (10 kg-m, 72 ft. lbs.).
c. Completely loosen all bolts.
d. Tighten all bolts to 39.2 to 49.0 Nm (4.0 to 5.0 kg-m, 29 to 36 ft. lbs.).
e. Turn all bolts 60 to 65 (target: 60) degrees clockwise.
f. Turn all bolts 60 to 65 (target: 60) degrees clockwise again.

Exhaust Manifold Nuts:

Exhaust manifold; 26 - 30 Nm (2.6 - 3.1 kg-cm, 19 - 22 ft. lbs.)
Exhaust manifold cover; 5.1 - 6.4 Nm (0.52 - 0.66 kg-m, 46 - 57 ft. lbs.)

Intake manifold upper:

Intake manifold upper 24.5 - 31.4 Nm (2.5 - 3.2 kg-m, 18 - 23 ft. lbs.)

Intake manifold lower:

Intake manifold lower 24.5 - 31.4 Nm (2.5 - 3.2 kg-m, 18 - 23 ft. lbs.)

ROCKER COVER:

1) 1.0 - 3.0 Nm (0.1 - 0.31 kg-m, 9 - 26 ft. lbs.)
2) 7.4 - 9.3 Nm (0.75 - 0.95 kg-m, 66 - 82 inch lbs.)
