2003 Q45, M45 AND G35; INCORRECT SHIFTING, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT "ON" WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DTC
APPLIED VEHICLES:
2003 Q45 (F50)
2003 M45 (Y34)
2003 G35 Sedan (V35)
2003 G35 Coupe (cV35)
IF YOU CONFIRM:
^ The Check Engine Light is "ON",
^ The transmission does not shift correctly, and
^ One or more of the DTC(s) in Table A as shown are stored,
ACTIONS:
a. Check the transmission fluid; confirm it is full and not burnt.
b. Using CONSULT-II, print the Freeze Frame data (if available), then erase the DTC(s).
c Use the "wiggle test" to check the vehicle harness-to-transmission connectors. Repair as needed.
d. Perform the DTC confirmation procedure for one stored DTC. Use the applicable Service Manual (ESM), A/T section.
e. Reprogram the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and perform TCM Initialization.
f. If an applied Automatic Transmission DTC is confirmed (duplicated), replace the control valve assembly.

NOTE:
Reference the Tool Catalog Price List in ASIST. Pro-rate the individual connectors, terminals, retainers and/or seals used per this list, then multiply that pro-rated amount by 40% (dealer mark-up) to arrive at the claimable amount for the repair component(s) actually used. On your warranty claim, use Part Category 791 ("Body Electrical") to claim the derived amount.
CLAIMS INFORMATION
If only the connector is repaired or if the connector is repaired and the valve body is replaced (including Transmission Control Unit Reprogramming and initialization), submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding table.
