Brake Shoe: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove rear wheel assembly.
3. Disconnect parking brake cable from actuating lever.
4. Remove drum to hub retaining screws, then drum.
5. Remove brake shoe hold down springs, then depress spring retainer while rotating 90 degrees to align slot in retainer with flanged end of pin.
6. Remove the lower pull back spring and expand brake shoes until they disengage from the actuator assembly, then remove the shoes along with upper pull back spring.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
