Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect radiator upper hose from intake manifold.
4. Disconnect fuel hose, vacuum hose and heater hoses from manifold, then heater hoses from the dashboard.
5. Disconnect the accelerator control cable from carburetor.
6. Disconnect distributor vacuum hose from distributor, then thermo-unit wiring at connector.
7. Disconnect the automatic choke and solenoid wiring at connectors.
8. On some models, disconnect ground wire at connector, canister hose and EFE heater wiring at connector.
9. Disconnect PCV hose from rocker arm cover, then EGR pipe from EGR valve.
10. Disconnect the AIR vacuum hose from the 3-way joint.
11. Remove the intake manifold attaching nuts, then intake manifold.
