Heater Core: Service and Repair

HEATER UNIT/CORE
Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system and disconnect hoses from heater core. Plug core hoses to prevent spillage into vehicle.

3. Remove instrument panel assembly.
4. Disconnect duct connecting heater assembly to blower assembly.
5. Disconnect all related electrical connectors.
6. Remove heater assembly attaching nuts at dash panel, then heater assembly.
7. Loosen swivel joint screw on water valve lever and disconnect valve from swivel.
8. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove lever operating air mix door.
9. Remove heater core hold down screws, then heater core.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
