Fuel Injector: Testing and Inspection


1. Disconnect fuel injector harness electrical connectors and measure resistance across the terminals. Resistance should be 2-3 ohms.
2. If measured resistance is not as specified, replace injector. If resistance is as specified, proceed to step 3.
3. Check fuel injector operating noise using a suitable metal bar or stethoscope with engine running.
4. If a regular click is heard which varies with engine speed, proceed to step 5. If a regular click is not heard, replace injector.
5. Remove common chamber assembly, then all injectors with fuel hoses connected.
6. Check fuel leakage by operating fuel pump with battery voltage applied to the fuel pump relay terminal No. 2BR. Leakage should be less than two drops per minute.
7. If amount of leakage is greater than specified, replace injector.
