Vehicle Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Fig. 218 Speed Sensor Check:
1.
Remove the meter assembly.
2.
Connect the leads of circuit tester across terminals as shown in
Fig. 218.
3.
Turn the inner shaft slowly and check the tester to see if it indicates alternately open and closed conditions.
4.
If the
speed sensor is inoperative, or erratic, replace speedometer assembly.
