Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

Throttle Position Sensor (Auto. Trans.):

1. Check that throttle is completely closed. Remove water shield cover from TPS connector but do not unplug connector.
2. Connect negative voltmeter lead to ground and positive lead to red connector wire by backprobing. Switch ignition "ON."
3. At closed throttle (idle) position, voltmeter reading should be 0.31 - 0.38V.
4. If reading is not within specification, loosen TPS mounting screws and turn sensor until proper reading is obtained.
