Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

Fig. 51 Piston & connecting rod assembly:

1. Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the piston pin and ensure pin fits in piston pin hole using finger pressure.
2. Align and install the side of the connecting rod stamped ``ISUZU,'' with the front cut-out mark of the piston.
3. Using a piston pin service set, install piston pin.
4. Install piston rings as shown in Fig. 51. Ensure to position piston rings so that the T or the 2T mark is turned up.
