Mixture Control Solenoid - Slow Cut: Testing and Inspection

Coasting Fuel Cut System Testing:

COASTING FUEL CUT SYSTEM TESTING

1. Warm up engine to operating temperature.
2. Connect a tachometer.
3. Raise engine speed to more than 3000 rpm and release accelerator.
4. Measure voltage between harness wires of slow cut solenoid. While decelerating but above 2000 rpm, a voltmeter reading should be 0 volts. While decelerating and below 2000 rpm, a voltmeter reading should show battery voltage.
5. If the system does not perform properly, refer to COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.
