TROOPER II (KT) V6 A/C KIT INSTALLATION

Figure 1:

AFFECTED VEHICLES

Trooper II (KT) models with V6 engine and dealer-installed air conditioning.

SERVICE INFORMATION

An improper length evaporator vacuum hose could impair air conditioning door operation. In Diesel-Kiki air conditioning kits before lot no. 0122901, the evaporator vacuum hose (Figure 1) is not long enough to allow proper installation onto the solenoid valve. During air conditioning installation, follow the instructions in this Service Bulletin to prevent this condition.

NOTE Vehicles without factory-installed A/C are equipped with a mechanically operated heater defroster door. Only vehicles with factory-installed A/C are equipped with a solenoid-controlled vacuum motor for the heater defroster door.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Before installing the air conditioning kit, replace the existing 30 mm evaporator vacuum hose provided in the A/C kit with an 85 mm (3-3/8 inch) length of bulk vacuum hose. The inside diameter of the new hose must be 3 mm (3/32 inch).

2. Install the air conditioning kit as outlined in the manufacturer's instructions.
