Input Bearing Retainer

DISASSEMBLY




If you have not done so previously, remove these parts from the input bearing retainer:
- Bearing outer race
- Shim(s)

1. Input shaft seal and input bearing retainer disassembly




Remove the input shaft seal, using the remover and a slide hammer.
Input seal remover: J-29369-2
Slide hammer: J-23907

REASSEMBLY

1. Input shaft seal and input bearing retainer reassembly




- Install the input shaft seal in the retainer, using the installer and a soft-faced hammer.
Installer: J-37375
- Install the input bearing outer race in the retainer without the shim behind it.
