ECM Terminal Identification:

Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit:

FUNCTIONAL CHECK
- Connect ohm meter between ECM terminal "C-45 pin-14" and ground.
- Disconnect speedometer cable from transmission.
- While turning cable slowly, circuit should indicate continuity and non-continuity alternately.
- If faulty, check cable, circuit and speedometer. If above test is OK, check speedometer.

CABLE CHECK
- Remove instrument cluster.
- Turn cable at one end and confirm that other end turns.
- If faulty, replace cable. If OK, check circuit and speedometer.

SPEEDOMETER CHECK
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove instrument cluster.
- Connect an ohm meter to screws "1" and "2" at back of meter.
- Using a small screw driver, turn inner shaft of meter slowly.
- Meter should indicate continuity and non-continuity alternately.
- If faulty, replace meter. If OK, vehicle speed sensor and circuit are functioning properly.
