Timing Cover: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove timing belt.
4. Remove crankshaft pulley hub.
5. Remove oil pan.
6. Remove front cover bolts, then the front cover.
7. Using a suitable tool pry out front crankshaft seal, then install seal using a suitable driver
8. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten bolts to specifications.
9. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
