Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then cover connector end with electrical tape.
3. Disconnect wiring from solenoid.
4. Remove starter motor mounting bolts and nuts, then the starter assembly.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque starter mounting bolt and nut to 35 ft. lbs.
6. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
