Spark test
Remove the high-tension cable (spark plug wire) from any spark plug. Hold the end of the high-tension cable (spark plug wire) close to the engine block and while cranking engine, check to see if a spark jumps across the gap.
Be sure to cover the high-tension cable (spark plug wire) with dry paper, or some other good insulating material to prevent shock before cranking the engine.
