Water Pump: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain coolant from radiator.
3. Remove serpentine drive belt.
4. Remove radiator fan shroud, fan and clutch as an assembly.
5. Remove water pump pulley.
6. Remove clamps and hoses.
7. Remove water pump mounting bolts.

8. Remove water pump and water pump gasket, Fig. 68.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten water pump retaining bolts to specification.
10. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
