Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

EVAPORATOR CORE

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Discharge and recover refrigerant from A/C system.
4. Disconnect blower motor resistor.
5. Disconnect electrical connectors as necessary.
6. Remove evaporator tube from evaporator.
7. Remove evaporator and blower module retaining screws and nuts, then the evaporator and module.
8. Separate case sections, then remove evaporator core.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
10. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
