Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

Use care not to strike or jar DERM. Do not short DERM to body ground, as SRS will become inoperative. Avoid opening case, touching pins or disturbing soldered components. Careless handling could result in improper SRS operation.

1. Disarm SRS as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove righthand sound insulator, sill trim plate, and cowl kick panel trim.
3. Remove DERM from mounting bracket, then disconnect CPA and electrical connector.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
5. Arm SRS as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
