Lower Control Arm
1. Raise and support vehicle so control arms hang free.2. Remove bolts from shock absorber pivot.
3. Push shock absorber up through lower control arm into coil spring.
4. Cradle inner control arm bushing with tool No. J 23028-01, or equivalent, secured to end of suitable jack.
5. Remove stabilizer shaft from lower control arm.
6. Raise jack to remove tension from lower control arm pivot bolts.
7. Secure control arm with chain around coil spring and through control arm.
8. Remove pivot bolts and nuts, taking rear pivot bolt out first.
9. Lower control arm by lowering jack.
10. When compression is removed from coil spring, take chain away. Do not force control arm and ball joint in order to remove coil spring.
11. Remove coil spring and insulator.
12. Remove lower ball joint.
13. Remove nuts, bolts and lower control arm.
14. Reverse procedure to install, tightening to specifications.
